Where did the powder post beetles in our french doors come from?

Question: We have just found powder post beetles in our french doors. Given their location in an enclosed courtyard, we are trying to figure out where they came from (doors are new as well). Any ideas and how do you prevent them?

Answer: I suspect the beetles were already in the doors when they were installed. Check with the supplier to find out if they have been having problems with other products. They may replace the doors for you. If not, call the local Orkin branch office to find out about treatments that are available.
