What are these small bugs in my apartment?

Question: I have seen the same kind of bug around my apartment and it is not a bed bug, but I cannot identify what it is. Can you please help? I have a picture in order to help identify so I can figure out how to get rid of it. Thanks.

Answer: This is a tick. It is a little late in the year for them to be active, but they can be. Perhaps there is a dog or cat in the house and the tick came in with them. Most likely there are just one or two. No need for a spraying program. Pick them up and discard (toilet).
